Match Report

It is a pleasant Sunday afternoon and the travelling hordes from Four Oaks arrived in Polesworth for this match. I must apologise if any detail is missed in this report as I was side tracked by 2 dads from Sutton Town that came on a rekey.

Firstly there was a 1 minute silence for our fallen heroes fighting for this country and democracy and it was an impeccable silence.

The game kicks off and sparks into life and within a minute or 2 Super Mario has the first shot but no goal, oh well. Polesworth win a free kick and is well cleared by Pavan and Rob brings the ball out nicely and passes it forward. Four Oaks attack and Sam puts it in easy it was a super flick from Super Mario that fed Sam and 1 nil up in the 3rd minute.

More Four Oaks pressure and Max scores a good goal 2 nil, then we attack again and Mario shoots but is well saved. Good play down the left from Max and a good ball in but is cleared. Polesworth make a rare appearance in our half and win a corner and is well cleared. We attack again and James puts the rebound away 3 nil. At this moment in time it is like a practice match with lots of Four Oaks pressure and shots. Sam shoots and scores taking the tally to 4nil than a minute or so we win a corner and it is hooked in and James scores 5 nil. Polesworth wake up and attack us and score a nice goal and it’s now 5.1. Some good play from our boys and James and Pavan doing well in the middle of the park. Polesworth attack again and now it is 5.2, C’MON FOUR OAKS. Max is substituted for Henry.

The stand in muppet reporter has just been told he had missed a goal and Sam had scored getting his hat trick and making it 6.2, sorry.

Harry then comes off for James as the second half kicks off. Good play from 4 Oaks and Henry does well and passes out wide to Olly and we get forward, good play lads. 2 of our supporters commented at this point that we are Wimbledon in disguise as there was a spell of long balls forward. Dan the man in goal kicks the ball long and Sam latches onto it and coolly lobs the out rushing goalie and score a lovely goal, direct yes but a good goal and it is now 7.2 and 4 for Sam.

Polesworth win a free kick in a dangerous position and it is hit and Dan saves it onto the cross bar, well done. Sam the 4 goal man is taken off for a well earned rest and Josh comes on also Olly comes off and new boy Alfie comes on.

Polesworth attack and score again and it’s 7.3. Now it’s our lads turn to attack and Pavan shoots from around 20 to 25 yards GOAL, well done and it’s now 8.3. It just shows how aware I am because Woody comes off for Mario who I didn’t even know had come off!! Then Pavan off for Max and we attack again and Josh gets the ball about 20 yards out and hits it and it is a very nice GOAL, well done Josh and now it is 9.3.

I must say the latter part of the second half got a bit more like individuals trying to show rather than a team but overall a good game and well done.

We now turn our attention to the top of the league clash at home to Baddesley Colts. C’mon boys.
