Match Report

Four Oaks Panthers 5 v 1 Castle Juniors

Firstly we would to thank Castle for allowing us to have an early kick off due to the Lichfield league inviting the Bears u7’s team to a tournament at St. Georges Park where England train.  It was a 10 o’clock kick off and we had only played Castle in the league a couple of weeks ago and we won 2v1 but it was a close game, so the Panthers line up was a bit different, first we would like to welcome Panthers new goalkeeper Aidan and a new striking partnership of Mitch and Regan which allowed Nathan to move to the right side of midfield, a new position for him.  For the first 20 minutes it was end to end football with Aidan coming to the rescue a couple of times by rushing out of his goal and being the fifth defender this was all set up to be a great game, Panthers first goal came when Nathan’s pace was too much for their right back, he chipped the ball in to the back post for Bobby to head home 1v0 half time. Panthers made some changes and on came Connor, Alfie and Tom, Nathan moved back up front and then it was Tom H who turned the right back inside out.  Will was on the left wing doing a similar job you could tell the next goal was not far off, another great ball was played in by Tom H to Connor who turned his marker and slotted the ball home to make it 2 v 0.  Panthers were settling down and the you could see the passing football was first class also having a strong defence of Bailey, Alfie,  Joe, Tom, and Brad with Aidan who were working hard for each other by playing the ball along the back four then back to Aidan who cleared to Mitch who brought down the ball and put a killing pass to Nathan who scored what a great goal, it was a pleasure to watch the lads play.  Fair play to Castle who didn’t give up and pulled one back Aidan made a good one handed save but the rebound was put in.  Panthers 4th goal started from a couple of passes from the left back of Tom H and Brad who then pulled it back to Nathan who slotted the ball home.  Bobby, Tom H, Mitch and Ethan were winning the first ball and this game was one of the best passing and controlling game we have seen. The fifth goal was all about Nathan who received the ball on the edge of the box went round four players and rounded the keeper to get his hat trick from a great individual goal full time.

Parent’s man of the match:  Tom H

Joint man of the match: Nathan and Mitchel

This was the first round of the cup so this Sunday is the 2nd round of the cup away to Heath Hayes who play in Cannock, 2 o’clock kick off. A fantastic match and well done to all the lads.
